Product Description
Work wordy wonders.
Have an appetite for words? Then join Lex the Bookworm in the hit word-puzzle game created by PopCap, makers of the best casual games this side of Jupiter! Link letter tiles left, right, up and down to build words to keep Lex sated and smiling. The bigger the word, the better the bonus. But watch out for burning letters — they could spell disaster for you and Lex!
If you need a quick word break, link letters fast in Action mode. If laid-back wordplay is more your style, go with Classic. No matter which mode you like best, you'll relax and tune up your brain every time you play!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2014I had purchased this game through another vendor a long time ago. But I had a problem with my PC & lost it. When I tried to get it back, even though, I had my receipt, it wouldn't allow me to re-down load it. And it gave my PC a bug. I was obsessed about getting it back. So, I decided to purchase it through Amazon. I love making words out of scrambled letters. It makes it more challenging when you have to make words out of burning tiles before they reach the bottom & explode. Obviously that ends the game. I'll admit I'm not much of a game person there are very few games that attract me. And I'm not the type of person who likes to challenge others I'd rather challenge myself. This is a solitary game & I like it that way. I like the idea of sitting at my PC when I'm in the mood or have a moment & play. Although, I can now understand how kids get so addicted to games. My moments have turned into hours. But, I'm using the excuse that I'm exercising my brain keeping it healthy. That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it. So, for me this was worth my purchasing it twice.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2017I'm a longtime Amazon customer, place dozens of orders a year, and have always found the site easy to use and the products valuable. After hundreds of orders, this is my first negative review. I placed an order for Bookworm thinking I could download the program. The order page says "online game code" which to me meant that I might have to play the game online. The page also said "DRM:Origin" but there was no explanation of what this meant. What it means is that you have to download a huge program named Origin operated by EA and create an account with them, although there were no instructions on how to do this. I followed the instructions carefully on "how to redeem" this purchase. I thought I paid for it and didn't realize I had to free it from slavery as well. When I finished downloading Origin, after also downloading Amazon Assistant, which it doesn't appear I even needed, Origin asked me for my EA username and password. I tried signing in with my Amazon username and password, and it didn't accept that, but there were no instructions on how to create an EA account. After fumbling with this thing for half an hour, I tried to request a refund but can't even do that. There's no provision in my Amazon account for returning this product and getting a refund. So I've blown $4.99 - no big deal after years of good service from Amazon - but I'll stay away from any digital purchases in the future.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2016Went through Orion to run this old game. I enjoy the game but Orion had to instruct it's delivery, installation and unpacking. I am glad to have it although it wasn't free but a game I have enjoyed for years none the less. Works fine on Windows 10 once it's installed and running.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2016I did not download because you have to setup an account with Origin. I didn't want to put in my birthdate and setup with another password. I have downloaded numerous games and it was easy and through my Amazon account. I would like my $5.43 returned but download games are not refundable; too bad. I just didn't have knowledge of this prior to ordering. All my other numerous orders were just great!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018I really love this game, became quite addicted, actually! But a few months after I bought this about summer 2017 & installed it the site stopped supporting it. I kept getting error messages when I tried to open the game. A call to the company, some correspondence & all for naught. It won't work anymore & OI cannot find anything similar & as good as this out there. I am very sad, and wonder if the seller knew the game site was going to end it's support of Bookworm Deluxe???
I can[t find BW-D anywhere on any site I've visited. So - long & short? - love the game, hate the discontinuation of it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2017The 5 star rating is for the Bookworm game, not my experience of buying and downloading it. I used to love playing Bookworm. My mother is an international champion. My 8 year old grandson enjoys it too. Unfortunately, Bookworm can only be accessed through Origin and Origin is a pain. I suppose if one plays numerous video games, then Origin is convenient but it's not for me, someone who only plays Bookworm. Origin has done nothing to upgrade the game for those of us who have upgraded our computers to Windows 10, so now instead of the game board filling the screen, it only appears in the top left hand corner. It's impossible to read any of the messages. Even my grandson says the print is much too small and his eyes are perfect!
It was more than a challenge creating an account in Origin and if I didn't want Bookworm for my grandson, I would have thrown in the towel.
So, in conclusion,.....LOVE Bookworm. Hate Origin.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2016I have played this game every day for the past few years and when it stopped working was a really sad day. Buying a new game that works on Windows 10 was a must. Expanding one's vocabulary even at 89 years of age is wonderful. It's a great game and one that parents could use to help their children learn. Not only do you spell the words you know, but learn to spell new words and sometimes get their meaning also. Too bad
there aren't more games that I could extol in this manner.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2016I purchased this game and cannot figure out how to download the game. The instructions given are not correct and I keep going around in circles and getting nowhere. I tried requesting a refund and I got a screen that said live chat will be with you in 46 minutes....really!!! When you purchase a game you should simply click download and be able to download the game. You have to register on the site, then they give you these pictures to verity that you are not a robot and it is impossible to figure out which pics to click on. Trust me it is not worth the trouble. Would not purchase from them again!!!
